Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
No.
Each grip is designed with a specific base for its rail system to ensure maximum rigidity. Make sure to select the correct variant for your handguard.
Yes. Although our grips include all the necessary hardware, they do not include the mounting key.
For installation, you will only need a standard Allen key set. Depending on the model, the key size may vary between the Picatinny system and the M-LOK / KeyMod system, but in both cases they are common tools.
Unlike conventional injected polymers or rubber coatings, our materials offer much higher abrasion resistance thanks to the carbon fiber reinforcement.
The material does not peel or become sticky with sweat or heat, maintaining a consistent operational grip for years.
Types of Tactical Grips for Your Rifle Grip
Choosing a handguard grip is not based on aesthetics; it is a biomechanical decision that determines target acquisition speed and platform management. In the Viking Layer Forge catalog, we develop specific configurations according to the operator’s shooting style and anatomy.
We offer vertical short grips designed for a firm C-Clamp style grip, as well as angled grips (AFG) that respect the natural alignment of the wrist to reduce mechanical stress on the forearm. Likewise, our hand stop and finger stop options provide minimalist indexing points for operators who want to maintain the lowest possible profile without losing retention in compact CQB configurations or long-duration MILSIM missions.
Carbon Polyamide vs Generic Injected Plastic
Unlike standard injected plastic accessories, our grips are manufactured from carbon fiber reinforced polyamide (PA6-CF). This material drastically reduces front-end weight while maintaining exceptional thermal and structural rigidity. Whether it is an M-LOK, KeyMod or Picatinny handguard, installation is simple and play-free, eliminating the noise that other materials such as ABS or injected plastic grips often produce.
Rough Texture for Extreme Conditions
A smooth grip or one with insufficient texture becomes a slippery and useless surface as soon as sweat, mud or rain appear. That is why the external geometry of each M-LOK, KeyMod or Picatinny grip in our range features a high-friction textured pattern machined directly into the carbon-reinforced polymer.
This industrial roughness acts mechanically against the glove fabric or the palm of the hand, ensuring a firm and consistent hold in any weather situation. Whether you operate indoors with high relative humidity or under extreme outdoor conditions, the retention and control of the replica remain unchanged.
